Branch Drawing

Found this twisted and dried ivy vine that typically grows up the trees in Georgia, eventually choking them out. This one had climbed around a pine, but died a long time ago. It had dried twisted, almost looking like a piece of driftwood.

  3. Great drawing. Very realistic. I'm inspired to do more drawing. Was this in pencil?

  4. Thanks Pierre - yes this was done using 'B' and '6B' pencils on sketch paper

  5. What finish paper, smooth or medium? Also, it looks like you did some blending. Thanks again for sharing.

  6. I used Tombow MONO pencils, and the paper was canson XL recycled sketch, 50lb, 18"W x 24"H. I only used different pressure on the pencil to get the look of smooth blending, not a finger or stump. I only used the 6B pencil in the areas of darkest dark, and most of the drawing was done with the 'B', just varying the pressure, using it sharp and blunt when needed.
