  1. beautiful colors, great sketches! When you fill a page like this, do you first do the watercolor and then draw on it or do you give it a color wash afterwards?

  2. Thanks Alexandre!

Koosje, thank u for asking. On this particular page, and for most of the accordion book here, I washed the pages with ink before drawing. I didn't want the ink to smear the pencil. But on THIS page, I washed the ink after the drawing, being careful to not ink over the drawing.

ALL of your work is so inspiring and fascinating! Just wondering what type of "ink" that you use? It's nice, bolder than watercolor but still opaque.

  4. Thanks for asking about the ink. Below is a list of inks that I like to use. These are especially good in Moleskine, since Moleskine paper tends to soak up watercolor and dull the color out, but these inks may have some oil-base to them because they sit more on top of the Moleskine paper and stay more vibrant (I buy my inks from JetPens.com):

    Diamine Fountain Pen Ink
    -pumpkin
    -oxblood
    -grey

    Lamy Fountain Pen Ink
    -turquoise blue

    J.Herbin Fountain Pen Ink
    -vert olive
    -cacao du bresil
    -ambre de birmanie
    -poussiere de lune

    Maxon Comic Ink
    -white
