thanks e-j. the bird was drawn with india ink and rapidograph, the orange was Luma transparent Watercolor Ink, and then I pulled matte medium over that, and then took a dry brush when the medium was almost dry, and pulled it away to take some of the ink back out. This was all done in a fabriano sketchbook.
