charcoal sunflowers
on toned watercolor paper. I'm thinking of going back over the negative space with a brush and matte medium before I fix it, make it look a little more painterly before calling it done. Also, over the past three days, I've been soaking my own damar varnish from the resin and gum spirits, so I'm excited to see how it comes out. This should be the last day of soaking, and I'll be able to strain it and dip in - can't wait.
How I miss charcoal--something I haven't touched, along with oils since college. This is great and as with many of your works/posts, makes me want to finally get back to getting dirty and making some larger scale work.
