had time for some busy-work, pulling old paintings off of their stretcher strips and gessoing some new canvases. I'm finding that the back of old paintings is a perfect surface that acts just like canvas paper, so I cut up about 10 old paintings into smaller squares and now have a big stack of "sketch" material to paint on. This way nothing is precious and I have lots of surface to practice paint. Much better than throwing those materials out.
