Face studies. Painting and drawing are soooo different. I suppose anyone that has tried both knows that, but it kind of slapped me in the face today. I have a love affair with line, so I'm just going to have to mix the two somehow...still working on how.
I have also tried to combine the two. I've tried painting into charcoal, so that the paint lifts up and carries the line. That worked well. With watercolor I love drawing on the finished painting. It's scary sometimes, but fun.

I always paint on my drawings.
ReplyDeleteI'll ink it, paint on it, go back over the inks, probably paint some more, go back over the inks again in a few spots for touch ups, and then it's off to Photoshop.
Sometimes I'll lightbox the inks and paint on another piece of paper/board and Photoshop them together.
I agree with bgoz...... I feel like such a slacker. I have put "draw daily" on my list of goals for next year. Its so easy to drop a habit and so hard to start a new one.
