some thoughts
"The solutions to the problems posed in art do not lie outside in the realms of technique and formula; they reside in the realm of fresh thinking about perennial issues, in honest feelings and awakened spirit. All creative journeys begin with a challenge to introspection, to fathom not only 'what's out there,' but 'what's in here'."

Excellent quote Ester and hands! Just getting caught up on your blog here--wow. The monkey is adorable too--love the stylization.
ReplyDeleteNice thoughts. The hands are outstanding. I really like "sandstorm" and your figure drawings.
ReplyDeletethanks :) I also need to catch up on some of my fav blogs lately - things seem to have piled up and the last two weeks flew by in such a rush!
ReplyDeleteCool. I like the quote. And the lighting in the picture. It makes me think of snow, or the beach. Lots of reflected light. Great piece.

I love this picture - there's something so heavy and emotive in the connection of the writsts.
ReplyDeleteyeah, I kind of thought there was a nice connection at the writsts too: kind of like the bottom hand was limp and "giving up", while the top was dominant and active, searching for something. It's fun how we can make connections and personification of a seemingly innocent pose for figure study.
ReplyDeleteJason Evans - I also like your re-interpretation of that quote. Very well said - mechanized indeed!
