Been sketching out ideas for an old book of fairy tales that I had since I was little. I wanted to re-create the imagery to go with the beautiful stories, so these are some ideas. I can see these translated into my final painted style very nicely. If nothing else, they were really fun for me to sketch out. The story is about a stream that wanted to travel outside of her mountain realm to see the world, but her fairy godmother, in the lake where she lived, told her it was impossible. She dreamed of the adventure, and in her dream realized that her fairy godmother was telling her the truth and life on the mountain was the best place to be. I drew her as a girl kind of made of water because I wanted the reader to be able to connect with it, and the story is written as if she has a human form.
